Completing My 2nd Marathon, The Grand Rapids Marathon With Hope Water International

I completed my 2nd marathon today, finishing with an average pace time of 1:01 better than last year. It was still a tough last 3-6 miles of the run, but I finished with a good run the last 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile. I took it a little easier on one of the last couple of miles to help out a fellow team member from the East Michigan group that was having a rough go of it. I needed the break too as my last 6 miles I was fighting off some calf cramps. Overall it was a great day and I finished much better this year than last. There were so many that came out to cheer us on it made a huge difference.

Focus And Determination Required For This Training Run

Today’s training run was an intense interval run that pretty much required my complete focus. I only had 30 seconds to “recover” between my 6 minute long 8 minutes/mile pace intervals, and there were 8 of those. I had quite a few misses, and I was short on my final distance by about .02 miles,…

    Fight Against The Treadmill

Today was a big fight against the new(used) treadmill. I guess it was hill training this morning. I have to figure out this new treadmill so that I can actually use it in line with my training schedule. I felt slow and frustrated this morning. Blah. Tim just finished a Runtastic treadmill training of 3.2…
