Not A PR But Beating My Last 5 Mile Run is Still A Win

My goal for today was to simply do better than my last 5 Mile run, from last Tuesday. Given how much of a struggle I had last week I was pretty hopeful that I could make that happen. I was also hoping for a sub-10 minute/mile pace. I accomplished both which was hard but it felt great also.

Ultimately my goal is always just to finish. Whether I find myself having to take some running breaks, or struggling against heat and humidity, in the end it’s all about finishing. When I comes to putting in a well and bringing clean water to Africa it doesn’t matter what it takes to get those wells in but that we can get them in and bring a change, and a new life, to those in desperate need.

I Told My Wife I Was Just Going For A Short Run

So my distance terminology might just be a little wacky. When I told my wife that I was just going for a short run tonight she asked if I was running to the end of the street, which of course I responded with no I was just running 5 miles. She laughed. The other day…
