Running Goals & Purpose

When I start talking with people about my running there is always the question of why I’m running and what my goals are. I’ll be honest that running just kind of happened. Don’t misunderstand, running wasn’t an accident, but rather came out of inspiration from my wife and the fact that a team of runners formed at my church. I wasn’t involved in the Hope Water Team raising money for well in Africa this past year, but do intend on helping this year.

When I started running as a way to lose weight, about 115lbs in the past year, it was pretty much because it was the easiest thing for me to find time to do. It is becoming more than that for me. It helps that I’m also signed up to run two 5Ks in the next 5 weeks. I’m also planning on running the Grand Rapids half marathon in the Fall. Only time will tell what running means for me ultimately.

Foggy Extended Run, Reminder, Don’t Forget The Nip Guards

It wasn’t a rainy morning but it sure was foggy. It was still good weather for a run. However, note to self, always wear nip guards on longer runs. I enjoy having the extended runs during the week as it gives me more quiet time. Getting enough sleep is the biggest problem though with the…
