Unfortunate News…

So I didn’t get a blog entry in yesterday. Oh well, not much went on. I spent a good portion of the day trying to work out wireless issues. I won’t go into the details, however, ended up spending time today working on it too. I guess it’s back to the drawing board on this one. I’m going to need to do some more research into this.

So I got two rather unfortunate emails today, both from my Mom. She’s going to be leaving our home church and finding a new church. This has a lot to do with everything that went on with Masha and how too many people at church didn’t understand. Things were very hard for my whole family. People at church still ask about her and this makes my Mom upset and she’s struggling there. I really hope that things get better for her.

The second email I got concerned my brother Kyle. In about 30 days he’ll be shipped off to Iraq. We’ve known for some time that this was a very likely, but just not this soon. I’m obviously concerned, as he’s going to war and this could mean he won’t come back. This doesn’t change my feelings about the current state of war. After what happened with 911 I don’t have a problem with the US taking a more offensive approach to things.

With all that you can see my family needs a lot of prayer right now. I know that God it ultimately in control of all that goes on. There is a purpose for it all, even if we can’t see it at the time.

I think people, more specifically Joel & Lori, are concerned with how much I’ve been working. Joel stopped by my office at the end of the day and was asking me how much I’ve been working on things. He didn’t say that he was concerned but it sure seemed that way. I’ve probably been putting in about 45-50 hours a week. I usually end up doing some kind of work in the evenings too, not at the synod, just other side projects. I probably work a few hours a day on that stuff. Now youth group has started up in full swing. I’ll be doing a lot more with that now. For a single guy what else is there to do. I suppose I could look to get into some other hobbies, but they usually cost money that I don’t have. There’s a get-together at Kari’s tonight that I’m going to so at least I’m getting out for once.

Well, I’ll probably post more later tonight…

    Katrina Victims, In Our Prayers…

I was listening to a Podcast yesterday on my way to my parents(surprise..lol), and one comment that was made on there was how the online blog community hasn’t been as active, concerning the Katrina victims, as they were after the tsunami hit South Asia. I was working on my blog, man I’ve been working a…

Your Wife Should Not Be Outserving You

This is not about having a competition with your wife on serving, it’s about taking a hard look at yourself as a husband and asking yourself what kind of leader are you. We live in a world where leadership, and men, are expected to be authoritative and followed because of their authority. Jesus’ picture of…
